§ Mr. EdeAbout 29,000 of the Germans registered with the police are in this country on a temporary basis, but I cannot say without examination of individual files how many are anti-Fascist refugees. The answer to the second part of the Question is that no German refugee has been compulsorily repatriated. As regards the third part, no obstacle will be placed by me in the way of any refugee returning to Germany or to any country which will admit him, but there are of course transport difficulties and I am unable to assist refugees to obtain permission to enter other countries.
