asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what annual tonnage of coal would be released for general consumption and export if the issue of miners' coal were to be suspended and replaced by a cash payment.

Mr. Shinwell

If the issue of miners' coal based on district agreements were to be suspended and met by a cash payment it would amount to 4,500,000 tons annually.
