§ Colonel ErrollIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that, while the situation may appear to be satisfactory to him, the facts are very different, and that ex-Servicemen have great difficulty in getting this priority allocation of fuel?
§ Mr. ShinwellI am not prepared to agree with that. If the hon. and gallant Member has any specific instances of shortage in the case of ex-Servicemen, he might let me have them.
§ 8. Mr. Dyeasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether the local fuel officers-in the county of Norfolk have now dealt with all the applications for additional supplies of hard fuel during the winter where neither gas nor electricity is available for heating or cooking.
§ Mr. ShinwellI am informed that with-the exception of two out of 26 local fuel overseers' districts in Norfolk over 90 per cent. of applications for licences have been dealt with. In these two districts there are some arrears due partly to a rush of late applications, but additional staff has been authorised to meet the situation.
