HC Deb 14 November 1945 vol 415 c2111
46. Mr. Boothby

asked the Prime Minister whether he will give an assurance that any financial agreement that may be negotiated in Washington between this country and the United States will be subject to the ratification of Parliament.

Mr. H. Morrison

The form in which any such agreement will be presented to Parliament for discussion will receive careful consideration, but I am not at present in a position to go into further detail.

Mr. Boothby

Will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that the Government are under an absolute pledge to this House not to take any final decision with regard to the Bretton Woods Agreement until we have had an opportunity of discussing it?

Mr. Morrison

Certainly, Sir, but the Question was not specifically directed to Bretton Woods.
