§ 23. Dr. Comynsasked the Minister of Health the names of the local authorities which, in spite of the Local Government Act, 1929, are still providing hospital treatment under the Poor Law system.
§ Mr. BevanI am circulating in the Official Report a list of county and county borough councils who have made declarations, under Section 5 of the Local Government Act, 1929, that hospital treatment shall not be provided by way of Poor Law relief. Other local authorities, in so far as they provide general hospital 606 treatment, do so partly under Poor Law powers and partly under Public Health powers.
