HC Deb 20 March 1945 vol 409 c640
Mr. Arthur Greenwood

Might I ask the Deputy Prime Minister whether he has any statement to make about the Business on Thursday and Friday?

Mr. Attlee

For the convenience of hon. Members, in the forthcoming Debate on housing the Government have placed in the Vote Office a White Paper, giving a factual summary of the Government's housing programme.

Mr. Buchanan

Which Ministers are taking part in the discussion?

Mr. Attlee

I understand that they are the Minister of Health for England, the Secretary of State for Scotland, and the Minister of Works.

Mr. De la Bére

What do they really represent?

Mr. Gallacher

Will it be a general Debate ranging over the two days, with one Minister opening and another closing it, Or will part of it deal specially with Scotland?

Mr. Attlee

That is a matter not for me, but for Mr. Speaker.

Captain McEwen

Will there be any period allotted for a discussion on rural housing?

Mr. Attlee

That is clearly a matter for the Chair.
