Motion made, and Question proposed, That a sum, not exceeding £25,000, be granted to His Majesty, to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1945, for the salaries and expenses of the Ministry of National Insurance.

This Estimate covers the expenses of the Ministry of National Insurance in connection with the preparation of the legislative machinery to implement the Government's plans in connection with the scheme of National Insurance, including family allowances, industrial injury insurance and health insurance; and expenses in connection with the preliminary work of planning the organisation for administering the new scheme are also covered.
