HC Deb 31 January 1945 vol 407 cc1432-3
17. Mr. Petherick

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many British newspapers or news agencies were represented in Greece in December, 1944, by correspondents of British nationality and how many by correspondents of foreign nationality; and whether he will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of such newspapers and news agencies with the names of their correspondents and the nationality of such correspondents.

Mr. Law

During December there were 12 correspondents representing British newspapers and news agencies and the B.B.C. in Greece. Of these 7 were British. I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT the particulars for which my hon. Friend asks.

Following are the particulars:

The following correspondents were filing messages to British papers and agencies during December.

Some papers had two or more correspondents during part of the month. Others changed their representatives. Only Exchange Telegraph were represented throughout solely by a Greek.
