§ 12. Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Labour what is the policy of His Majesty's Government regarding single women who are now employed in war industry; how soon after the end of hostilities in Europe will they enjoy the right to work where they wish without direction by the State; and how soon will all women who have been directed to industry be released from State control and be free to take up domestic and private occupations.
§ Mr. BevinThe Government's proposals on this matter are set out in the White Paper on Re-allocation of Manpower between Civilian Employments, Command 6568, and I cannot at present add to what is said in that Paper.
