HC Deb 16 January 1945 vol 407 c13
6. Mr. Driberg

asked the Secretary of State for War, if he is aware that British prisoners of war in Stalag IV C are working 12 hours a day, seven days a week, with one Sunday off a month; and if he will make appropriate representations through the Protecting Power.

Sir J. Grigg

Yes, Sir. I am well aware of this and of other matters in connexion with Stalag IV C. Repeated representations have been made through the Protecting Power, so far without satisfaction.

Mr. Driberg

Will they continue to be made until there is some satisfactory result?

Sir J. Grigg

They will continue to be made as long as there is the slightest hope of their achieving any result.

Mr. Godfrey Nicholson

What is the nature of the work?

Sir J. Grigg

I must have notice of that question.
