HC Deb 28 February 1945 vol 408 c1362
20. Mr. E. J. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether education officers who served in the ranks before being commissioned are entitled to gratuity, 56 days' leave with pay and ration allowance.

Sir A. Sinclair

These education officers will be eligible for gratuity in respect of any periods of whole-term war service counting for Service pay; the 56 days' leave with pay and ration allowance will apply only to airmen who remain in the Service until their turn for release comes under Class A of the Re-Allocation of Man-Power Scheme: it will not apply to airmen who are allowed to revert to civilian duties before then, for example, those who have meanwhile of their own accord joined the R.A.F. Educational Service.
