HC Deb 13 February 1945 vol 408 c18
27. Mr. Spearman

asked the President of the Board of Trade why the supply of H.A.8. high-tension deaf aid batteries has fallen so far below the number promised; and if he will take steps to see that an adequate supply is maintained.

Mr. Dalton

This shortage is due to the heavy demands made upon the manufacturers for batteries for the Armed Forces. But I am glad to say that I have been able to arrange with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply for a considerable increase in the production of these batteries to take effect this month.
