HC Deb 07 February 1945 vol 407 cc2056-7
18. Mr. Kenneth Lindsay

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has any information as to how many British subjects are on the pay-roll of U.N.R.R.A.; and how many draw salaries exceeding £500 a year.

Mr. Law

I regret that complete figures are not available to me at present, since British subjects are recruited by offices of U.N.R.R.A. ouside the United Kingdom as well as by the European Regional Office of U.N.R.R.A. I understand, however, that a report on the personnel and establishment of the Administration is in preparation by the Director-General.

Mr. Lindsay

The Foreign Secretary said on 20th December that that report would not be long delayed. Could the right hon. Gentleman give any indication when we shall receive it?

Mr. Law

My hon. Friend will realise that it is not my responsibility, but I will look into the matter and see if it can be expedited.
