§ 28. Sir T. Cookasked the Secretary of State for Air if he will permit Belgian airmen now serving in the R.A.F. to spend their leave with their wives and families in Belgium.
§ Sir A. SinclairThe possibility of permitting Belgians serving in the Royal Air Force to spend leave in their home country is under consideration by the interested Departments. Meanwhile, applications from Belgian airmen to proceed to Belgium on compassionate grounds will be considered on their merits.
§ Mr. PetherickIs my right hon. Friend not aware that this is a matter that might have been considered a long time ago, in view of the fact that Belgium has been largely liberated from Germany for some time, and that leave is allowed now to 2063 members of the British Army of Liberation in Belgium?
§ Sir A. SinclairPerhaps it might have been. But the matter is being considered now.
