§ 14. Mr. Norman Bowerasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that a number of workers are shortly to be discharged from a factory engaged on war work, the name of which has been communicated to him, on the grounds of redundancy; that the discharge notices have recently had to be withdrawn at the instance of the Man-power Board owing to the fact that no alternative work was available for the redundant workers; and if he is satisfied that, when the new discharge notices take effect, alternative work of national importance will be available for all the discharged workers.
