HC Deb 17 December 1945 vol 417 c932
72. Mr. Dye

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he proposes, in 1946, to import a greater quantity of animal feedingstuffs into this country in the event of the Anglo-U.S.A. Loan Agreement being ratified.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Dr. Edith Summerskill)

I have been asked to reply. A larger quantity of rationed animal feedingstuffs will be distributed in the next rationing year 1st May, 1946, to 30th April, 1947, than was issued in the same period 1945–46. This will necessitate a greater import, provided supplies can be secured. I am not aware that U.S.A. will be an exporter of animal feedingstuffs and it would be premature to anticipate supplies from that source.
