HC Deb 13 December 1945 vol 417 c608
49. Squadron-Leader Donner

asked the Minister of Labour when the Gas Industrial Union was established; what is its present membership; and whether it has a part in the consultative machinery of the gas industry.

Mr. Isaacs

This union assumed its present name in June, 1945, having previously been known as the National Gas Fitters and Allied Workers Trade Union, but it has been registered with the Registrar of Friendly Societies since 1896. Its present membership is not known. It is not represented on the Joint Industrial Council for the Gas Industry.
