§ 52. Mr. R. A. Butlerasked the Minister of Labour whether he is now in a position to state the Government's conclusions on the Markham-Hancock Report on Domestic Service.
§ Mr. IsaacsI have at the moment nothing to add to the reply which I gave to the right hon. Member on 18th October.
§ Mr. ButlerIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that the failure of the Government to deal with the Report will be widely regretted in many circles in this country as it is of interest to many people? Will 609 he therefore expedite consideration of this Report and give an assurance that the Government will come to a conclusion at an early date?
§ Mr. IsaacsI cannot agree to the first part of the question, namely, that the Government have failed to deal with the Report, but I agree with the latter part. It is a matter of great importance, and I assure the right hon. Gentleman that we are pressing forward with the matter as rapidly as we can.
