§ 46. Mr. Janner
asked the Prime Minister when the present charter of the B.B.C. expires; and whether it is proposed to set up a committee to consider on what terms it is to be renewed.

§ The Prime Minister
The present B.B.C. Charter expires on 31st December, 1946. The Government have been giving careful consideration to the terms on which the B.B.C. Charter is to be renewed, but it is not yet possible to make a statement on this matter.

§ Mr. Janner
Will my right hon. Friend say whether it is the intention of the Government to set up a committee or some other body to investigate the whole of the matters relating to broadcasting in this country?
