HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 c397
80. Mr. Levy

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if, in offering a further period of service to H.O. aircrews, he will modify the two deterrent qualifications that make the retention of rank subject to review and that render aircrews liable for groundwork instead of discharge if they should subsequently become medically unfit for flying duties.

Mr. Strachey

we arc offering the same conditions for these aircrew as for all our Regulars. We cannot go further than this.

Mr. Levy

will not the Minister even undertake that a review of rank should take place before, instead of after, they are accepted for an extended period of service?

Mr. Strachey

The main thing is that they must be kept in line with the policy for the engagement and the treatment of the Regular Forces.
