asked the Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (1) what is the total number of children attending school in Newfoundland Labrador; and what percentage of them attend during compulsory school age;

(2) what is the total number of children attending school in the island of Newfoundland; and what percentage of them attend during the compulsory school age.

The number of children attending schools in the island of Newfoundland is 69,130 and in Labrador about 750. Of these the percentages attending during compulsory school age are approximately 74 per cent. and 76 per cent. respectively.
