§ 50. Sir Henry Morris-Jonesasked the Prime Minister whether the Government will consider the memorandum sent to the Coalition Government by the Welsh Parliamentary Party on the question of a Secretary ship of State for Wales, with a view to adopting the proposal.
§ 51. Lieut.-Coloel Price-Whiteasked the Prime Minister if it is intended to give early and sympathetic consideration to the question of the appointment of a Secretary of State for Wales; and if he is aware of the strong feeling in support of such an appointment throughout the Principality.
§ The Prime MinisterThis matter has not yet been considered by the present Government, and I am not in a position to make any statement beyond saying that the question shall receive careful consideration.
§ Sir H. Morris-JonesWill the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind when considering the matter that it does represent the unanimous opinion of Welsh Members, irrespective of party, of whom there are eight in His Majesty's Government at the present time?
§ The Prime MinisterYes, Sir. That is a very important point.
