HC Deb 12 April 1945 vol 409 cc1951-2
4. Mr. Walter Edwards

asked the Minister of Labour when the Interrupted Apprenticeships Scheme for men whose apprenticeships have been interrupted by war service will be brought into operation.

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Bevin)

Though originally I had not thought it possible to introduce this scheme until after the cessation of European hostilities, I have, after further consideration, decided that it can be brought into operation forthwith so that men now being discharged from the Forces on medical or other grounds may have the advantage of the scheme without delay.
