§ 25. Sir H. Williamsasked the Minister of Labour why the increased weekly earnings of all workers in January 1944 as compared with October 1935, as stated on page 126 of the "Ministry of Labour Gazette" of August 1944, show an increase of only 79 per cent., having regard to the fact that the increases for men were 79 per cent., for youths and boys 80 per cent., for women 96 per cent. and girls 85 per cent.; and will he publish the calculations on which the percentage of 79 for all workers is based.
§ Mr. BevinI am assured that the calculations in the "Labour Gazette" are correct, and I will in due course send my hon. Friend an example of how they are worked out.
§ Sir H. WilliamsHaving regard to the fact that the percentage for all is equal to the percentage of the lowest, what has happened to all the rest?
