asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any plans are being evolved for the large scale production of British locomotives after the war, since replacements and additions are urgently needed in many parts of the British Empire.

Yes, Sir. When the present high output of locomotives for military use is no longer necessary, the industry will be ably to devote itself to meeting the large demands of Empire and other overseas countries.
