asked the President of the Board of Trade how many times the lifeboats of the National Lifeboat Institution have been called out since the war started; and how many lives the lifeboat-men have saved since the war started.

I have been asked to reply. Since the outbreak of war, lifeboats of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution have been launched on 3,399 occasions, and 5,783 lives have been saved.
