HC Deb 26 September 1944 vol 403 cc171-2
The Minister of Health (Mr. Willink)

I apologise for interrupting the hon. Member, but I hope he will not complain if I rise to move a Motion to suspend the Rule in order to get the Business already outlined, which the Government regard as most important. I beg to move, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House).

Mr. Bevan

Before I give way, may I inquire whether the Rule is suspended for this Business as well as the other?

Mr. Willink

indicated assent.

Question put, and agreed to.

Question again proposed, "That the Bill be now read a Second time."
