§ 38. Mr. Jewsonasked the Secretary of State for War the grounds on which he is refusing compensation to an East Norfolk farmer, of whom he is aware, who has suffered damage owing to the laying of a minefield on his land, thus preventing the destruction of rabbits.
§ Sir J. GriggAs my hon. Friend is aware, this case has been very carefully and sympathetically considered. The military, authorities were carrying out their duties and I am advised that no act has been committed by them which could justify the acceptance of a Common Law claim for compensation.
