HC Deb 25 October 1944 vol 404 c170
65. Miss Ward

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the recent decision of the Malta courts arising out of the case of Victoria Micallef that the criminal law of Malta did not include provisions similar to the Infanticide Act of the United Kingdom, steps will be taken to amend the law.

Colonel Stanley

A Bill for this purpose is being drafted and will be introduced in the Malta Legislature as soon as possible.

Miss Ward

Will my right hon. Friend look at the position in other Colonies in regard to that matter?

Colonel Stanley

Yes, I have that in mind.
