§ 58. Mr. Kendallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, with a view to assisting British trade recovery, he will consider a readjustment of the Excess Profits Tax.
§ Sir J. AndersonQuestions relating to changes in taxation are proper for discussion on the Finance Bill and I am unable to anticipate my Budget Statement.
§ Mr. KendallIs the Chancellor of the Exchequer aware that, unless some hundreds of small firms, especially those firms which started business after 1938, get some E.P.T. relief, they will have to go out of business, with the subsequent result that thousands of workers will be unemployed? And will he consider this question one of great urgency?
§ Sir J. AndersonThese are all matters for consideration in due course.
