asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport if he will recommend the granting of an increase of seven days' annual holiday to the uniformed staffs of all the railways.

The period of holiday for the uniformed staffs of the railways is the subject of agreements between the railway companies and the railway trade unions. Any proposal for a change in these agreements is a matter for consideration through the established machinery of negotiation.
