§ 60. Sir H. Williamsasked the Minister of Supply why the related schedules of steel prices have not been published as Statutory Rules and Orders, having regard to the fact that persons who sell any steel article at prices above those specified in the related schedules are liable to be prosecuted.
§ Sir A. DuncanAs I have explained in a previous reply, the related schedules to the Iron and Steel Control Orders would constitute a bulky document running into many thousands of pages. In the interests of economy in paper and printing it has not, therefore, been the practice to print them with the Orders, though they are published documents available for inspection by any person interested. Particulars of the products and related schedules affected by price changes are published also in trade journals.
§ Sir H. WilliamsIs the Minister aware that people sometimes have to travel long journeys for the purpose of inspecting these schedules?
§ Sir A. DuncanThis has been the practice now for the whole of the period of the war and I have never heard a com- 938 plaint. If my hon. Friend knows of any case in point I shall be glad to look into it.
