HC Deb 15 November 1944 vol 404 c1964
56. Sir I. Albery

asked the Minister of Supply, in view of the large quantity of metal scrap of various descriptions now available, if he proposes to lift the control in order to facilitate home production of various kinds.

The Minister of Supply (Sir Andrew Duncan)

Yes, Sir. The restrictions on the use of scrap metals controlled by the Ministry of Supply are being relaxed, in consultation with the other Departments concerned, as rapidly as the material and labour positions permit.
