§ 63. Colonel Burtonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of the War Damage Fund has been claimed; and what percentage has been disbursed.
§ Sir J. AndersonI think my hon. and gallant Friend is under some misapprehension. There is no War Damage Fund; receipts from contributions being paid into the Exchequer and payments by the War Damage Commission being made out of moneys provided by Parliament. In accordance with Section 81 of the War Damage Act, 1943, statements of receipts and payments in relation to each financial year are laid before Parliament on or before the 30th day of November next following the expiration of that year.
§ Colonel BurtonIs my right hon. Friend satisfied with the pace at which claims are being settled?
§ Sir J. AndersonThat is a different question.
