asked the Minister of Food if his attention has been drawn to the serious shortage of milk in Birkenhead and the North-Western Area; and if he can make any statement on the prospects of improvement in the situation.

There was a temporary shortage of milk in this area, but now that the allowance for non-priority consumers has been reduced to two pints there should be sufficient milk to meet the decreased consumption.
