HC Deb 08 November 1944 vol 404 cc1342-3
21. Captain Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any representatives of interests other than African were consulted when the recently published proposals for constitutional reform on the Gold Coast were discussed.

Colonel Oliver Stanley

I am asking the Governor for information on this point.

Captain Duncan

Is it not advisable that the large British interests should be consulted?

Colonel Stanley

My hon. Friend will realise that the main changes were in the African representation.
