§ 15 and 16. Mr. Neil Macleanasked the President of the Board of Trade (1) whether, in reviewing the possibilities of 1228 post-war trade, he has under consideration the prevention of agreements between British trading organisations and foreign trading organisations, which will be detrimental to the interests of the British public;
(2) whether he will institute a public inquiry into the operation of cartels and the connection of British firms with foreign firms in the organisation of such trade combinations.
§ Mr. DaltonAs has been previously stated, no public inquiry will be made into this matter. But I hope that it will be possible to introduce legislation next Session on the lines proposed in Paragraph 54 of the White Paper on Employment Policy.
