asked the Minister of Education when he expects to be able to announce the revised salary scales for teachers.

The Burnham Committee are now actively engaged on this matter, but I cannot say when they will be able to submit the scales of remuneration for teachers which they consider suitable. The Committee's task is not free from complexities but I have urged them to use all possible expedition.
