HC Deb 01 November 1944 vol 404 c800
64. Sir Leonard Lyle

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will urge the Canadian Government to consider extending to R.A.F. men, resident in Canada, the concession granted by us to men serving in the Middle East theatres of war whereby they can send parcels to their relatives and friends in this, country free of tax.

Mr. Peake

my right hon. Friend understands that Canadians serving with British or Allied Forces abroad are already allowed to send personal gifts to Canada free of duty provided that they include no tobacco or alcohol.
