asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the position with regard to arrangements among the United Nations for the arrest and trial of war criminals.

Mr. Eden

The House will recall the announcement last October of the setting up of a United Nations Commission for the investigation of war crimes. The Commission held its official inaugural meeting on 18th January last, and has been regularly at work since then.

Mr. Mander

Will the right hon. Gentleman say whether the trials taking place in North Africa by the French are linked up in any way with this position?
