HC Deb 17 May 1944 vol 400 c177
59. Dr. Russell Thomas

asked the Minister of Information if meetings are arranged by his Department to publicise the Atlantic Charter and Moscow Declaration.

Mr. Bracken

I would refer my hon. Friend to my answer of 1st March to the hon. Member for Burnley (Mr. Burke). The main purpose of Ministry of Information meetings continues to be the supply of factual information about the war.

Dr. Thomas

In view of the fact that the Ministry has stated that it does not allow the discussion of the Atlantic Charter at its meetings because it is a matter of post-war reconstruction, would the right hon. Gentleman say what has made him change his policy in the last year or two?

Mr. Bracken

I do not think the Ministry of Information has changed its policy in any way.
