HC Deb 03 May 1944 vol 399 cc1316-7
41. Flight-Lieutenant Challen

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning whether his attention has been drawn to the proposal of the St. Pancras Borough Council that part of Parliament Hill Fields could be used for housing purposes; and whether he will ensure that no local authority shall be permitted to encroach upon common land set apart for the use and enjoyment of the public.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Town and Country Planning (Mr. Henry Strauss)

So far as my right hon. Friend is aware, the St. Pancras Borough Council have not sought any of the consents which would be required for such a development, and it would be premature therefore to offer any comment.
