26. Miss Wardasked the Secretary of State for War if he will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT the foreign service allowances payable to officers and other ranks in the various theatres of war.
§ Sir J. GriggI am circulating particulars of the special allowance payable to troops in the Mediterranean theatre. The troops on the Burma front, which is the other active theatre of war, receive Indian rates of pay. These include an element to cover the additional expenses they necessarily incur while in that theatre.
Miss WardCould my right hon. Friend indicate in the OFFICIAL REPORT what are the special allowances in Burma and how the scales of payment are weighted?
