Action is taken by the National Fire Service on all reports of fires, but fires reported direct by the public to the National Fire Service instead of through the fire guard sector channel throw an unnecessary burden upon the National Fire Service communications system. Fires should, therefore, be reported through the fire guard sector wherever the Fire Guard Plan has been established.
