HC Deb 22 March 1944 vol 398 c836
16. Mr. R. J. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Air, to what extent volunteers from the Dominions are serving in the R.A.F.; and are such airmen desiring to transfer to the air force of their Dominion of origin permitted to do so.

Captain Balfour

I regret that it would not be possible without considerable research, which would not, I think, be justified, to say how many men of Dominion origin are still serving in the Royal Air Force. Applications for transfer to a Dominion Air Force are considered on their merits.

Mr. Taylor

Am I right in assuming that when an application is made, it is considered on its merits?

Captain Balfour

Yes, it is considered on its merits. If the hon. Member has any particular case in mind I should be glad to look into it.
