HC Deb 22 March 1944 vol 398 cc838-9
21. Mr. Donald Scott

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he is able to make any further statement with regard to the issue of greatcoats and boots to the personnel of the A.T.C.; and what official facilities exist for the repair of their footwear.

Captain Balfour

I regret I have nothing to add to the reply given to the hon. Member for Faversham (Sir A. Maitland) on 13th October, when my right hon. Friend stated that these articles cannot be provided owing to shortage of materials. As regards the second part of the Question, there are no official facilities for the repair of cadets' footwear, but the possibility of introducing a scheme under which local shoemakers would accord facilities is now under consideration.
