HC Deb 21 March 1944 vol 398 c646
5. Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for War whether recent divisional instructions that personnel whose inoculations or vaccination have not been, completed will not be granted leave, includes soldiers who have refused vaccination in accordance with Section 18, note 5, of the Army Act.

Sir J. Grigg

It may happen—particularly overseas—that smallpox has broken out in the parts of the country where troops spend their leave and, in the interests of the health of the others, it may then be necessary to stop men who have not been vaccinated, and who are therefore more liable to contract smallpox, from visiting those areas. But if my hon. Friend will send me particulars of where the instructions he refers to were issued I will have the matter investigated.
