HC Deb 15 March 1944 vol 398 c212
5. Mr. Granville

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if it is his intention to begin discussions in London with King Peter of Yugoslavia and M. Purich in the near future.

Mr. Eden

We of course hope to have discussions on Yugoslav affairs with King Peter and M. Purich during their visit to this country.

Mr. Granville

In order to secure a United Nations policy on the Matter, could not representatives of the Russian Government be invited to such a meeting, or be kept in close touch with the discussions?

Mr. Eden

We keep our Allies informed of all phases of our policy, and I am in hopes that similar treatment will be meted out to us.

Mr. Riley

Have the Purich Government any authority whatever in Yugoslavia?

Mr. Eden

I do not think that helps us very much.
