HC Deb 08 March 1944 vol 397 c2033
21. Major Nield

asked the Postmaster-General what inquiries have been made by his Department as to the quantities of cigarettes and tobacco posted to the Forces overseas that have been stolen in transit; and if he is satisfied that all possible steps are being taken to put a stop to it.

Captain Crookshank

A joint investigation is being made by my Department and the War Office and I must await the results, but a number of steps have already been taken which I hope will diminish the losses of cigarettes and tobacco posted to the Forces overseas.
