HC Deb 22 June 1944 vol 401 c347
40. Mr. Lipson

asked the Minister of Food if he has now been able to adopt the suggestion that franked envelopes be provided at local food offices in order to save time, labour and paper.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Mabane)

I am glad to be able to say that it has now become possible to arrange for the use of franked labels and envelopes in local food offices as a result of a decision reached in April last, following consultations between representatives of the Treasury, the Post Office and my Department.

Mr. Lipson

I congratulate the Minister on having changed his mind.

Mr. De la Bère

Ought not the hon. Member for Cheltenham (Mr. Lipson) to be congratulated as well?
